Lync’s Story
Lync is our beautiful little boy, Nate and Crew’s brother, and the reason behind Lync to the Stars.
There is so much more to Lync than the sadness of losing him. There is his personality, the things he loved, the happiness he brought into our home and the memories we will carry for the rest of our lives. We want people to get to know our little boy and understand why keeping his name alive means so much to us.
Lync had some additional needs, and being his mummy and daddy taught us to appreciate every little moment. Things that might seem small to someone else meant everything to us. We learnt alongside him, understood his own ways of communicating and loved him for exactly who he was.
Lync loved exploring the world through his senses. Whether it was splashing in a puddle, getting covered in mud or feeling sand between his fingers, he was happiest getting stuck in. It didn’t matter how messy he got, he just loved it. Watching him enjoy those simple things gave us some of our most precious memories.
He loved his films, especially Toy Story, which will always hold a special place in our family. Those familiar characters and little reminders will forever bring us back to him.
Nate was Lync’s best friend. He understood Lync and his needs in a way that was so special to see, with more patience than we could ever have asked of a big brother. He never needed Lync to be any different; he simply loved him, understood him and wanted to be beside him. We will always be so proud of the brother Nate was to Lync and continues to be to Crew.
Crew was only seven months old when we lost Lync, and that is something we find incredibly difficult. We wish they could have had more time together, growing up, playing and making more memories as three brothers. But Crew will grow up knowing his big brother. Through our photographs of them together, our stories and the way we speak about Lync, he will always know that Lync is part of our family and always loved.
Losing Lync changed our lives forever. There are no words that can properly explain what it feels like to lose your child, or how you learn to carry that pain while still being mummy and daddy to your other children. We miss him in the everyday moments, on the special days and in all the moments we imagined having together.
Lync to the Stars grew from our love for him and our wish to keep his memory alive. It gives us a way to say his name, share his story and bring people together in his honour. We hope that, as we find our feet, we can also offer some comfort and support to other families facing the unimaginable.
Every child taking part, every person supporting us and every kind gesture helps us create something meaningful in Lync’s name. It means more to our family than we could ever explain.
Lync will always be our little boy. Always Nate and Crew’s brother. Always part of our conversations, our family and everything we do.
We love you, Lyncy-Boy. To infinity and beyond.
Keeping Lync's Name Shining
Lync to the Stars was created in memory of our beautiful little boy, Lync. After losing Lync, our world changed forever. No parent ever imagines having to say goodbye to their child, and nothing can truly prepare you for that kind of heartbreak.
We knew we couldn't change what had happened, but we wanted to make sure Lync's name would continue to shine and that his legacy would be one of love, kindness and hope. That is how Lync to the Stars was born.
This is our promise to Lync, that he will never be forgotten.
Who Was Lync?
Lync was full of life, laughter and love. He had the biggest smile, the kindest heart and brought happiness wherever he went. Like so many little boys, he loved adventures, making memories and spending time with the people who loved him most.
Buzz Lightyear was his hero, which is why you'll often see the words "To Infinity & Beyond" throughout everything we do. To us, those words mean that love never ends, memories never fade and Lync's light will continue to reach people for generations to come.
Although his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last forever.
Why We Started
When we lost Lync, we experienced first-hand how important support can be during the darkest moments of someone's life. We also realised that many families are left facing unexpected financial pressures alongside unimaginable grief. We wanted to do something that could ease that burden, even if only a little.
Lync to the Stars exists to help families during some of life's most difficult moments. Whether that's providing practical support, helping create lasting memories, bringing communities together through fundraising events or simply being there to listen, our aim is always the same, to show kindness and remind people they are never alone.
Every family deserves compassion, dignity and support.
